2025 in Nanaimo, BC

The 2025 General Chapter

The General Chapter of the Canons of the Order of Saint Benedict met in Nanaimo, British Columbia, March 24th through the 27th to celebrate our 30th year as an order. This was the first time we have gathered for General Chapter since before the pandemic. The Community of St. Aiden of Lindisfarne hosted us at the Bethlehem Centre where they hold semi-annual retreats. Members from our communities in Tempe, Arizona and Sioux Falls, South Dakota were in attendance.

Along with the Daily Office, Daily Mass, meals, and social time, members from the various communities presented conferences on the theme of our Benedictine vow, conversatio morum, or “conversion of life”.

Mtr. Amanda-Magdalene professed her solemn vows and Br. Claude-Bernard his simple vows as a Mass celebrated by the Rt. Rev’d Anna Greewood-Lee at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Nanaimo.
